These are products that take your makeup to the next level. Using these products have fooled even myself to thinking I just may have perfect skin! These are products that if used in conjunction with all your foundation or tinted moisturizers, will give that extra bump up.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. This product comes to no surprise being that it is a really talked about product in the beauty blog world. Well, at least that’s how I found out about this one. I bought this a long time ago and even reviewed about it and at the time, I was quite disappointed. I didn’t think I saw the difference on myself. But after writing that blogpost, I tried the product again a few months later. This time, I felt the difference when people commented on how nice my skin looked. I used it quite a bit then and for some reason stopped using it again.
Recently, I picked it up again and found that I just really really like it now. Not only do people comment (again!) on how nice my skin looked every time I wore it, but now I myself could see the difference.
This is just a great finishing powder. It perfects the makeup. It doesn’t have a lot of coverage, but it totally dims and blurs all the imperfections that are left over after foundation. As they say, it gives more of an effect than anything else, and boy does it make a difference!
In the palette it comes with three shades: dim light, incandescent light, and radiant light. I love mixing dim light (a more skin-tone shade) and incandescent light (a little lighter, almost a highlighter). The two gives me a great finish! The radiant light is a bit more like a bronzer.
I recommend using this with my next skin-perfecting recommendation. The Sephora Pro Fan Brush.
Sephora Pro Fan Brush (no.65). I’ve been wanting a fan brush but for some reason never made the purchase until recently. On Sephora there weren’t a lot of options. First, I went for the Make Up For Ever fan brush, but for the price, it wasn’t really all that great. I decided to try Sephora‘s own brand, and I love it! I use it with a finishing powder, much like the Hourglass Ambient Lights. It disperses the perfect amount of product and really wraps everything up! Because it is a fan-shaped it doesn’t leave too much product on the skin, which is really important. You don’t want to look all caked!
Final product recommendation is a recently discovered product that I’ve already blogged about here. It is the YSL Touche-Eclat Blur Primer. As I said in my last post I was out to get the full-size after being thoroughly impressed with the sample. Needless to say, I am still in love! It keeps my makeup looking so fresh and intact throughout the day. It doesn’t clog pores, and even for a super oily skin like mine, this holds all day. I am quite the primer junkie so for me to put this on top of all the other primers, well, it means I firmly stand by it. It is a bit pricey, but personally I think it’s worth it!
